Die künstlerische Arbeit von Russ Pope speist sich aus seinem alltäglichen sozialen und politischen Umfeld. Pope wurde inspiriert vom Skateboarden, von Musik und durch die kreativen, interessanten Menschen, denen er täglich begegnet. Seine kräftigen Striche, punktuellen Kritzeleien und auffälligen Malereien sind von Gesichtern, Stillleben und spaßigen Events geprägt. Seit den frühen Tagen mitten in Kalifornien, als er skatete, zeichnete und Punkkonzerte besuchte, bis zu seinem heutigen Leben in New England hat Russ das Leben und sein Interagieren mit seiner Welt durch das Prisma von Stift und Pinsel verarbeitet.

Russ Pope’s art draws from the social and political environment sur-rounding him in his daily life. Pope‘s inspirations have been skateboarding, music and the creative, interesting people he encounters daily. His bold strokes, finite doodles and striking paintings are characterized by faces, still lifes and humorous events. From the early days in Central Califonia skateboarding, drawing and attending punk shows, to his current life in New England, Russ has processed life and his interactions with his world through the prism of a pen and a paintbrush.
